Loes van Rijsewijk

Loes van Rijsewijk can almost celebrate her 10 year anniversary of living in Groningen. In 2008, she moved to “Stad” to start her bachelor in Sociology at the University of Groningen, after which she enrolled in the Research Master. Since 2013, she works as a PhD at the Sociology Department, where she investigates predictors and consequences of helping behavior among adolescents and their peers. For two months, she visited the Arizona State University to collaborate with researchers with similar interests. From January to July 2016, she worked for the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) in The Hague, and learned more about the organization behind grant application procedures. After attending the PhD-Day as a visitor many times, she decided to help organizing this inspiring event.

“As member of the PhD Day PR committee, I hope to reach PhD-students from all corners of the Netherlands (and beyond) through our flashy website, posters, flyers, and FaceBook page”
