Ximena Rosas Plaza studied medicine at UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico), and besides having clinical internships she was always involved in research activities. Her work has been focused on the field of oncology, from melanoma to a rare type of eye tumors in children called retinoblastoma. She is now a fourth year PhD student at the Medical Oncology department at the UMCG, where she also had the opportunity to do an internship in 2012 as part of an exchange program during her master studies.
