PhD Day Groningen | 2024

Sofie van den Eynde

Sofie van den Eynde works at the Institute for Science Education and Communication at Zernike campus, the smallest institute of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. She studied physics at KU Leuven in Belgium, but she always knew that teaching was her true passion. During her masters she started a teacher training and got in contact with physics education research. This was another side of education that seemed very interesting to explore. After a successful master thesis in this field, which was a cooperation between KU Leuven en DCU Dublin, she decided to continue this path and found a PhD position in Groningen. In September she started her research on the reasoning process of students in undergraduate physics when they blend mathematics and physics in advanced physics topics.

“As member of the PhD-day PR committee, I want to help organizing an exciting event that brings PhD’s together!
