Maleen Leimkühler is an MD/PhD student at the Surgical Oncology Department of the University Medical Center in Groningen. Her research focuses on improving the patient selection for a major oncological surgery hoping to improve the outcome and reducing the risk for patients. After finishing her PhD she hopes to combine clinical and scientific elements in her work. To reload her energy she likes to hit the dancefloor on some Salsa- or Bachatahits. She has a grown dislike of beer and struggles with punctuality, but of course only to conquer the existing stereotype of Germans.
