Have questions about the PhD Day? Below you will find answers to the most common topics, including registration, the program, and practical details.
How can I buy a ticket?
Tickets are exclusively sold on our ticket platform Eventbrite. Registration for the upcoming Networking Day is currently closed. We are still finalising the details, and registration will open as soon as the program is confirmed. Please check back soon or keep an eye on our homepage for updates.
Are there any discounts available?
If you order your ticket before the 30 November, you get a 15% discount.
Can I get my ticket reimbursed by my graduate school?
Most graduate schools at the University of Groningen will reimburse your ticket through your personal ITB (training budget). If you are from a different university, please reach out to your graduate school to ask for information on this.
Are food and drinks included in the event?
Yes, two coffee breaks, a lunch break and a networking “borrel” at the end of the event are included.
Can I get a refund if I don't attend?
Refunds are available until 21 days before the event. After that date, tickets are non-refundable.
What time does the event start and end?
Registration opens at 8.30am and the event itself starts at 9.30am. The event closes at approximately 5pm with a networking borrel.
Do I need to print my ticket?
No, a digital ticket (on your phone or tablet) is sufficient at the registration desk.
I'm arriving by train. How do I get to the event location?
The Feringa Building is easily accessible from Groningen Central Station. From the main station, you can easiest take bus 15 towards Zernike Campus and get off at Crematoriumlaan. The journey takes about 10–15 minutes. Alternatively, you can rent a bicycle at the main station (15 min).
What do I need to do when I arrive at the event?
Once you arrive at the Feringa building, please visit one of the registration desks with your ticket to register your attendance. The first session starts at 9.30am, so please make sure to arrive on time for this. You can register from 8.30am.
What should I bring?
Just your ticket and enthusiasm! A notebook or laptop might be helpful for the workshops.
How do I choose workshops?
After registration and before the event, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to sign up for specific workshops. Some of the workshops have limited capacities, so make sure to secure your spot.
Can I change my workshop choices later?
On the day of the event, you can check with the volunteers if there is still space in the workshop that you would like to attend instead of your initial choice.
Will photos or videos be taken during the event?
Yes, photos and videos will be taken for promotional purposes. Please let us know at the registration desk if you prefer not to appear.
